Win recognises Caledonia’s success in delivering consistent, compounding returns over the long term

Caledonia Investments has been named ‘Best Flexible Trust’ at the Money Observer 2020 Investment Trust Awards.

The award recognised Caledonia’s highly diversified portfolio – in terms of both asset class and geography; its enduring backing by the Cayzer family; and its focus on managing risk to avoid permanent loss of capital, while also achieving growth.

Caledonia’s track record is proof that a risk-adjusted approach can still outperform: as noted by Money Observer, the trust has outperformed the FTSE All-share index over three, five and ten years. It is also an AIC dividend hero, with a 53-year unbroken track record of rising dividends.

CEO Will Wyatt said, “We are delighted that Caledonia’s long-term track record of growth in capital and income has been recognised in this year’s Investment Trust Awards.

Caledonia has been building wealth for generations, always with a sharp focus on the future. Our portfolio is both diverse and balanced to deliver long-term. This proven approach is reflected in our record of consistently rising dividends for the last 53 years. For generations, we’ve also been a safe pair of hands for real capital growth. Trends come and go, and there have been many storms to weather since 1878, but we are driven by values that endure.”

Of course, evolution is key to longevity and during Will Wyatt’s tenure as Chief Executive the business has developed significantly, focusing today on three areas: quoted stocks, private capital and funds.
