Appointment of new Finance Director

The board of Caledonia Investments plc ("Caledonia") is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen King as Finance Director with effect from 9 December 2009, at which point, as previously announced, Jonathan Cartwright will step down from the board.

After qualifying as a chartered accountant, Mr King held senior financial positions with Lonhro Plc, Lucas Industries plc, Seeboard Plc and was Group Finance Director of Midlands Electricity plc before his appointment as Group Finance Director of De La Rue Plc from 2003 to March 2009. He is also a non-executive director of Weir Group plc, where he is Chairman of the Audit Committee.
